Omega Pinnacle Investments (Pty) Ltd was established in 2016 by its founding members who found a common vision. It successfully navigated the 2020 CoVid lock-down and grew simultaneously. Its success is based on the founders’ core values, which include integrity, honesty, diligence and hard work and is guided by the governance-principles of the King commission.

Kent Georgala
Kent Georgala is a professionally registered Civil Engineer with 44 years of experience in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering and Project Management. Kent’s commitment and dedication to his chosen profession have resulted in a broad experience base as a manager of engineering design teams to achieve the desired design outcomes and project deliverables for Employers and Clients alike. As a founder member and co-director of Omega Pinnacle Investments (Pty) Ltd, Kent has acted in the capacity of Design Leader for the Civil and Structural components of Mining-related projects, Forensic Investigations and has assisted with Project Management. Kent is the CEO and Chairperson of OPI and firmly believes in Innovation as a way of life.

- A strategic thinker with a good mix of practical and theoretical knowledge and experience.
- Extremely competent mining engineer with outstanding mining and metallurgical engineering, project management and financial skills;
- Relevant experience in a wide variety of geology, minerals, mining methods and metallurgical processes across the African continent.
- Extremely competent with all MS office packages including databases; and
- Well versed in the various mineral resource and reserve reporting standards and local and international competent persons (CPR) and due diligence reporting. This includes NI43-101 of Canada, SME of United States of America, JORC, SAMREC of South Africa, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS, SIC, FRG) and securities exchange standards.
Areas of Experience and Specialisation
Strategic mine management;
- Local and International mineral and metal market analysis for coal, metals, rare earth and industrial minerals. This includes coal, lithium, gold, chrome, mica, talcose minerals, silica, rare earth and iron group commodities;
- Exploration geology, geology resource and reserve planning, assessment and reporting to balance sheet;
- Open pit/cast and underground mine and solution extraction, quarry, mine infrastructure, mining method design and optimisation for hard rock, pegmatites and coal, mining and ancillary equipment specification;
- Metals and coal ore dressing, mineral beneficiation, metallurgy beneficiation and metallurgical process design, in minerals, including coal, lithium, gold, chrome, mica, talcose minerals, silica, rare earth and iron;
- Competent Person’s and Mine Valuation Reports, Due Diligence assessments and reporting for stock exchange registration, investment analysis, rates of return and decision-making in accordance with SAMVAL, MINVAL, NI43-101 and IFRS;
- Mine valuation and costing assessment, analysis and reporting for balance sheet purposes in accordance with IFRS;
- Technical and financial feasibility studies up to bankable level;
- Mine design and mining methods for open cut and underground mining in wide variety of mineralisation and ore body classes;
- Design, development and operation of materials handling systems and methodologies in surface and underground operations
- Project management in the EPCM environment for small and mega projects;
- Fully conversant with CAD based mine survey, mine design and mine planning software with emphasis on SURPAC, X-PAC, Talpac and Whittle; and
- Database programming for mine (Object based) modelling in Access and Visual Basic;
